Today we took a local bus to Leshan and arrived at the bus station. We then got on a minivan to take us to the Grand Buddha. It took about an hour to fill the minibus and then we finally took the 10 minute drive! Frustrating! We walked through a beautiful Buddha Statue Park, very tranquil, up many steps until we finally arrived at the Giant Buddha's head. Looking over the cliff down onto the Buddha carved out of the mountainside was quite spectacular, an amazing feat by local monks! We desc
ended via the cliff walk (alongside thousands of Chinese tourists!) and came out at the Buddha's feet. It's big toe was as tall as me!
